Balde still eyes l'OM move
Bobo Balde has still not given up hope of securing a move to Marseille.
Celtic defender Bobo Balde has still not given up hope of securing a move to Marseille. The giant Guinea defender held talks with l'OM earlier in the month, but returned to Glasgow after failing to agree personal terms.
Bhoys chief Gordon Strachan thought a line had been drawn under the affair and included him in his plans, but Balde claims there is still a chance of a deal being resurrected despite admitting to feeling at ease at Parkhead.
"I am still under contract with Celtic, a club where I feel at ease," Balde told But! "I said I had a desire to leave because I thought the new coach didn't really trust me.
"But week after week, there is an improvement. Now I think I am part of his plans, so we will see."
Deportivo La Coruna still hold an interest in the defender, but it would appear as if Balde is only interested in moving to Marseille.
"In Spain, I had a contact through an agent, but nothing more," he added. "Marseille is different.
"I went and met them to propose my services. L'OM is the club of my childhood. I told them how much I earn at Celtic. Then they made me a proposition and we could not find an agreement, that's all.
"I have not closed the door. Perhaps Robert Louis-Dreyfus (l'OM's major shareholder) will give a little financial help.
"I know Pape Diouf asked for information to know if I am able to play in the Uefa Cup. But there are only a few days remaining and then I will go and play some World Cup qualifiers with Guinea.
"But l'OM is still tempting."
