Real Betis ace Marcos Assuncao has ruled out returning to Serie A with Roma.
Real Betis ace Marcos Assuncao has ruled out returning to Serie A with Roma.The Brazilian moved to La Liga for £4.5 million in 2002 and has been linked with a return to the Giallorossi.
However, Assuncao has three years remaining on his deal with Betis and is happy to remain at Estadio Manuel Ruiz de Lopera.
"I have no thoughts of leaving Betis. I have received a phone call from an Italian radio station and I told them my intention is to stay in Spain with Betis," said Assuncao.
"I am very happy at Betis. Especially now that we are going to play the (UEFA) Champions League while Roma is are not going to play for anything.
"I am under contract for three more years and we have really important games to play. I have many friends at Roma but I want to reach the end of my contract at Betis."
