Francis Jeffers wants to play for Rangers in the knockout phase of the Champions League.
Francis Jeffers is hoping to feature for Rangers in the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League. The England cap is spending the first half of the season on loan with the Scottish champions from Charlton Athletic.
He has been impressed with his early weeks at Ibrox and has already voiced his desire to stay in Glasgow beyond January.
The striker started his first game for Rangers on Tuesday evening as Alex McLeish's men beat Porto 3-2 at home in the Champions League.
Jeffers was delighted to be involved in the victory which gave Rangers the ideal boost ahead of the trip to Internazionale in a fortnight.
With The Gers boasting a solid chance of advancing beyond the group phase, Jeffers is anxious to remain at the club until at least the end of the season.
"I hope Rangers will still be in the Champions League after the New Year," commented Jeffers.
"We have to believe we can qualify and the win against Porto sets us up nicely for the trip to the San Siro in two weeks.
"I hope I will still be here to be a part of things if we qualify.
"I don't know what Charlton have in mind and it's a bit early to say whether I'm going to stay or not but that's my hope."
