Ashley Cole is tipping Arsenal to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough at the weekend. The loss at The Riverside has left Arsene Wenger's side nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea, although the Highbury outfit do have a game in hand.
Cole believes Arsenal has responded in the past in the face of adversity and sees no reason why the squad cannot reproduce the goods once more.
Arsenal have the ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways when they tackle Swiss outfit FC Thun on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, live on Sky Sports Xtra.
"We've responded to big setbacks in the past and we're going to have to do that again if we want to win anything this year," explained Cole.
"We have to bounce back because we can't lose too many games if we want to win the league. We just didn't take our chances against Middlesbrough.
"We didn't work collectively around the box and we need to get shots in as well because sometimes we were trying to pass the ball in shooting opportunities and we were trying to dribble too much.
"We've got to get our heads around the Middlesbrough game and look at the mistakes we made and focus on Wednesday and try to get a positive result.
"It's going to be tough for us, but we've got to forget about Saturday's result and start playing our best football because we didn't play against Middlesbrough."
