Sakho to be joker

Lamine Sakho could be set to leave St Etienne before the transfer window opens in January.

In France, clubs are allowed to conduct one transfer - called a joker - outside of the window.

Now Sakho is hoping that he can secure a move away from Les Verts as a joker.

Both Southampton and Portsmouth failed to broker deals in August, but it seems the former Leeds man will move before they get a chance to make renewed bids.

St Etienne coach Elie Baup has told Sakho that he can leave and a loan deal looks likely.

At the moment Nancy seem the most likely destination.
