New HSV deal for Laas
Hamburger SV have handed Alexander Laas a new contract.
In-form Bundesliga side Hamburg SV have handed reserve player Alexander Laas a new contract which commits the midfielder to the AOL-Arena until 2007.The 21-year-old spent most of his time starring for Hamburg's second team in the third division, but he has recently earned his first Bundesliga cap.
Head coach Thomas Doll has also used the midfielder in Hamburg's successful InterToto Cup campaign which saw the team qualifying for the Uefa Cup.
Director of sport Dietmar Beiersdorfer is confident that the youngster has what it takes to make a name of himself.
"Alex is a promising talent and I really hope that he will break into our first-team soon," declared Beiersdorfer when the player put pen to paper on his new contract.
