Owls sack Proudlock
Sheffield Wednesday have terminated the contract of striker Adam Proudlock.
Sheffield Wednesday have terminated the contract of striker Adam Proudlock for disciplinary reasons. The 24-year-old joined The Owls from Wolves in September 2003 for a fee of £150,000.
He endured a frustrating time at Hillsborough, especially last season when a broken leg in November saw him miss the majority of the campaign.
He managed two goals this term, both in a substitute appearance during the 4-2 Carling Cup win at Stockport, but found it hard to claim a starting berth.
He was again used from the bench in Wednesday's 2-1 home defeat to Millwall last weekend, but that has proved his final appearance for the club.
The Yorkshire outfit have not elaborated on the reason for the player's sacking, beyond the fact it was down to a breach of the club's disciplinary code.
"Sheffield Wednesday have served notice to terminate the contract of Adam Proudlock for disciplinary reasons," a club statement read.
"No further comment will be made."
