Bayern reveal Podolski plan
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Bayern Munich are planning to sign Lukas Podolski.
Bayern Munich boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has outlined the Bundesliga champions' plans to bring Cologne's Lukas Podolski to the Allianz Arena.The Cologne hot-shot is Germany's rising star and after finishing last season as Bundesliga Zwei's top-scorer, Podolski has developed into a key player for the national side.
His adaptation to Die Bundesliga has also begun fruitfully with two goals in five games, and Bayern have again openly stated their desire to bring him to the German capital.
Speaking in an interview with SportBild where he described Podolski as "an extraordinary player", Rummenigge went on to reveal that the player has a clause in his contract that states he can leave The Goats for a meagre é¼1 million in 2007.
Bayern are prepared to wait for the gifted youngster, although Rummenigge insists he is already close to becoming the finished article.
"Lukas Podolski is mature enough to play for FC Bayern," said Rummenigge.
"He proves that in every international he plays.
"He is simply a class player and I'm sure he could make his mark at any club in the world."
