Julio Cruz-ing at Inter

Internazionale striker Julio Cruz hopes to extend his stay at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Internazionale striker Julio Cruz hopes to extend his stay at the Giuseppe Meazza beyond the end of his contract in 2006.

Cruz has started the season in impressive form having already found the net four times for Roberto Mancini's side and the Argentinian's agent claims his client is deserving of a more lucrative contract.

"Julio wants to remain with Inter because he feels good at the club," Jorge Czysterpiller told Corriere dello Sport.

"But now he deserves a big contract for the big player he is."

Czysterpiller added that Cruz has attracted widespread interest from clubs, however his first choice is to remain at Inter for the foreseeable future.

"I can't hide the fact that a few different clubs from around the world have enquired about Julio's situation," added Czysterpiller.

"However I have not spoken with anyone yet because Inter are our first option.

"Julio and his family feel good there and they don't want to leave - he hopes to end his career at Inter."

Cruz joined Inter in the summer of 2003 as a replacement for Hernan Crespo and has scored 25 goals in 72 matches for the Nerazzurri.
