Cort praise for Hoddle

Carl Cort has hailed Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle for reviving his career.

Carl Cort has hailed Wolves manager Glenn Hoddle for reviving his career.

The powerful striker endured a miserable spell at Newcastle United where he was continually hampered by injuries after a £7 million move from Wimbledon in 2000.

He ended his unhappy stint on Tyneside in January 2004 after he was signed by former Wolves boss Dave Jones.

Though Jones was responsible for bringing Cort to Molineux, the forward has flourished since the appointment of Hoddle last December.

Cort has scored nine goals already this season and he has praised former England coach Hoddle for improving his game.

"I have always fancied myself to score goals," said Cort.

"But I think my current streak is down to the fact that all of the players understand the formation the manager wants us to play.

"He has helped me a lot and has added things to my game.

"I also started the season by banging in a couple of goals and when that happens your confidence rises automatically."
