Viola dealt Do Prado blow

Fiorentina star Guilherme Raymundo Do Prado is expected to be out for six months.

Fiorentina midfielder Guilherme Raymundo Do Prado is expected to be on the sidelines for six months after suffering a training ground injury.

The Brazilian midfielder damaged the ligaments in his right knee in a training exercise on Thursday, severely curtailing the start of his career with the Serie A side.

Do Prado only made the move to Florence from Perugia in the summer, and initial impressions of his injury had been positive after his training session ended early.

However checks later revealed the more serious problem and the Samba star underwent immediate surgery in an attempt to resolve the problem.

Cesare Prandelli's men are currently in the ascendancy in Serie A as they occupy third place after six games, and Viola will hope that they can adequately cope with the loss of the fringe player.
