Dougie shrugs off rift rumours

Dougie Freedman says he and Clinton Morrison do get on well.

Dougie Freedman has scotched suggestions that he and Crystal Palace team-mate Clinton Morrison do not see eye to eye.

The pair have formed a formidable partnership in the absence of Andy Johnson at Selhurst Park, but rumours have suggested that their on-field cohesion is not mirrored off it.

Freedman, though, says the rumours are well wide of the mark.

"He is a little bit loud but I enjoy his company," Freedman told the Croydon Advertiser.

"A lot of people said we didn't get on. I don't know how they can say that. On the pitch, we get on very well. Off the pitch, he is a little bit younger and louder, but I actually get on with him a lot.

"I am very close to Clinton. I enjoy his company and his loudness. The place is never quiet.

"He is a few years younger so we don't necessarily socialise; his is a different lifestyle to mine. But I like his company and I like him as a guy. I'm glad he's back."
