De Rossi suffers ankle blow

Roma will discover the full extent of Daniele de Rossi's injury in the next few days.

The midfielder had to pull out of training after suffering an ankle problem doing gym work.

Early indications are that it is nothing too serious, but de Rossi will undergo further scans to determine how long he will be out for.

The youngster's absence will not trouble coach Luciano Spalletti too much in the short term, as he was already ruled out of Sunday's clash with Messina through suspension, but he will hope to have his man back for the game against Juventus after the international break.

De Rossi has been one of the few shining lights in Roma's disappointing start to the Serie A season.
