Pools cruise past Gills

Hartlepool United made easy work of Neale Cooper's Gillingham after a 3-1 win.

Hartlepool United moved into the top half of the League One table after a 3-1 home win over struggling Gillingham.

Neale Cooper's return to his former club proved an unpleasant one, as Pools delighted the Victoria Park crowd when Jon Daly scored on the quarter hour mark.

Antony Sweeney (pictured) doubled the home side's advantage five minutes after the second half restart and Lee Bullock wrapped up the points for the North East club with a late third.

Substitute Francis Collin scored a consolation in the dying stages for The Gills, but the Kent-based outfit remain in trouble near the foot of the table.
