Injury blow for Palermo
Palermo striker Andrea Caracciolo faces an anxious wait to learn if he requires surgery.
Palermo striker Andrea Caracciolo has been pronounced fit to play at the weekend, after an anxious wait to learn if he requires surgery having fractured his nose.
The talented hit-man suffered the blow during Thursday's Uefa Cup clash against Lokomotiv Moscow, with a verdict on the extent of the injury having now concluded that he will not require extensive treatment.
Caracciolo was forced off in the first period after receiving an unintentional blow from an opponent player, with the forward now having received positive news upon further inspection.
''I've suffered an unintentional foul that probably provoked the nose fracture,'' Caracciolo told the club's official website.
''I'll have the neccessary scans and we will see.''
Caracciolo may now wear a protective mask if selected against Sampdoria at the weekend.
