Keane back in two weeks

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Roy Keane could be back before the end of November.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that Manchester United captain Roy Keane could be back in action before the end of November.

Keane has been out with a broken foot since September and he was due to make his return along with Gary Neville at Burton Albion on Monday.

However, Ferguson was forced to withdraw both as they were not ready and he admits Keane's injury has been an annoying one to assess.

"He [Keane] is back in light training," Ferguson told Sky Sports News.

"It is difficult to assess the injury because players who get that are out longer than you think and although it is straightforward - metatarsal bones are just pretty fragile really.

"He is on the way back anyway and I would think two or three weeks for him."

Ferguson revealed that Neville, who is returning from a groin injury, withdrew because he was not feeling right.

"Gary Neville was due to play but he pulled out this morning [Monday] as he is just not feeling 100 percent fit," Ferguson continued.

The United boss insisted that Neville's continued absence was not a major issue.

"It is not a blow, if he was going to play it was only for an hour so we have decided to leave him in the training sessions for now before risking him in the game - but there is absolutely no chance for Charlton."
