FA Cup Round-Up

Gareth Taylor's brace lifted Nottingham Forest to a 2-0 FA Cup win over Weymouth.

Nottingham Forest have set up a second round FA Cup clash with Chester City following a tricky 2-0 replay win over Weymouth.

After being held at The City Ground, the two-time European Cup winners made the trip to the non-leaguers with everything to lose.

The opening half saw little created in terms of goal-scoring opportunities with the best chance for the visitors coming when Roy O'Brien deflected Gareth Taylor's header wide of goal.

Weymouth were inches from breaking the deadlock before the interval with Chukkie Eribenne seeing his shot palmed onto the post by Paul Gerrard after good work by Steven Clark.

Gary Megson's Forest were much-improved after the break and Taylor opened the scoring after 67 minutes with a simple finish after Nicky Southall's excellent cross.

The game was settled shortly after with one-time Weymouth loanee Taylor adding a second from close-range after another cross from the right - this time James Perch created the chance.

In the evening's other clash Worcester City won through to the second round following a 1-0 win over Chippenham Town.

The visitors found themselves a man down when Ian Harvey collected his second yellow card after 72 minutes and things quickly went from bad to worse.

Just four minutes later Adam Webster bagged the winner to set up a second round clash with high-flying League One outfit Huddersfield Town.
