Schalke eye Farfan
Schalke have targeted PSV's Jefferson Farfan as a posible new striker.
Schalke are preparing to buy another striker in a bid to establish themselves among Europe's leading teams.The club have made PSV Eindhoven forward Jefferson Farfan their prime target and are keen to land the youngster next summer.
"In the past we have always stressed that we want to start the season with four strikers, but the current situation has proved that we are struggling for options if two forwards should be injured at the same time and therefore we are likely to sign a fifth striker," said managing director Andreas Muller.
20-year-old Peruvian Farfan is tied to the Dutch giants until 2008 and there interest is sure add further spice to Schalke's UEFA Champions League Group E rematch against Guus Hiddink's side.
PSV won the first match 1-0 and are currently topping the group with seven points ahead of Schalke and Milan with five points.
