Crouch out to Kop goal
Peter Crouch is ready to dive into The Kop when he finally scores his first Liverpool goal.
Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has revealed he is ready to dive into The Kop when he finally scores his first goal for the club.Crouch will be hoping he gets another chance to break his duck this weekend when former club Portsmouth visit Anfield on Saturday.
The England international has yet to score for Liverpool in 14 games and Crouch cannot wait to finally lift the burden by opening his account for The Reds.
"I'm really looking forward to that moment and the sooner it comes the better," said Crouch.
"How will I celebrate? I'll want to jump into the Kop I think.
"It will be a special moment, and one that I have had to wait for, so I guess I will be a bit excited."
Crouch has come in for criticism for the slow start he has made to his Liverpool career, but he is happy with the support he has received from a number of people.
"There's been a lot said about me of late but a lot of people have supported me as well," added Crouch.
"The manager here (Liverpool), the England coach, Wayne Rooney and Kenny Dalglish have said nice things, so when you hear positive comments from people you respect then it makes it easier to ignore the other rubbish from people whose opinions don't really matter as much.
"The Liverpool fans have been great with me. Everyone knows how loud they are but when they're singing your name it's a really amazing experience.
"Hopefully I can score for them this weekend."
