Lennon agrees Spurs deal

Aaron Lennon is believed to have agreed a new contract with Tottenham.

Aaron Lennon is believed to have agreed a new contract with Tottenham.

The 18-year-old only moved to White Hart Lane in the summer when he sealed his transfer from his native Leeds United.

Lennon was not expected to make an immediate impact in the first team, but that is exactly what he has done.

An early injury to Wayne Routledge meant Lennon was drafted in earlier than anticipated by Martin Jol - but the Dutchman has not been disappointed following a string of very impressive displays.

The England Under-21 star is now believed to have agreed a deal which will see his basic wage doubled.

He is expected to pen his new long-term contract within the next few days.
