Boro look at quartet

Four Barnsley youngsters are training with Conference side Scarborough.

Four Barnsley prospects are training with Conference side Scarborough in a hope of linking up with Neil Redfearn's side on a permanent basis.

Nathan Joynes, Ryan Laight, Tom Harban and Robert Atkinson are all hoping to gain some vital experience with Scarborough having been unable to break into Barnsley's first-team squad.

If a loan move was to be orchestrated, it would have to be done before Thursday's transfer deadline, however Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie (pictured) has confirmed that Robert Atkinson could move to the east coast on a work experience scheme.

"They are all training with Scarborough this week," Ritchie told the club's official website.

"Nathan, Ryan and Tom are there with a view to a possible loan move, although that would have to be done before this week's deadline.

"Rob could go on work experience and there is no cut-off point for that."
