Tuomas Haapala is set to extend his trial at Manchester City.The 26-year-old Finn will spend another week at City after impressing boss Stuart Pearce during his brief stint.
Haapala had been expected to travel to Italy next week for a trial with Serie B club Vicenza, but has decided to stay in England.
"Vicenza have already offered me a contract but when City wanted to keep me I didn't need to think twice about it," said the midfielder.
Haapala is currently captain of Mypa, and with a burgeoning reputation, Pearce will be reluctant to let him go without making a thorough assessment of his capabilities.
