Beye wants Marseille stay

Marseille defender Habib Beye has revealed he hopes to stay at the club.

Marseille defender Habib Beye has revealed he hopes to stay at the club.

The Senegal international has been linked with a possible move away from Stade Velodrome when the transfer window reopens in January.

Reports emanating from France have suggested Beye could join Monaco in a swap deal for Emmanuel Adebayor after dropping down the pecking order at Marseille.

The full back is unaware of any possible departure and he insists he wants to stay in the South of France.

"I never said I wanted to leave, and frankly, it upsets me," said Beye.

"I don't like to be put on a possible list of players that could leave during the winter transfer window.

"I have no desire to leave, and I didn't try anything for that.

"I am not attracted to go to Monaco, anyway no has one told me they want me to leave. So my departure is not topical."
