Gerrard: England have talent
Steven Gerrard says that England have enough talent to win the World Cup.
Steven Gerrard says that England finally have enough World class talents to win the World Cup.
For the first time in several years, a large portion of the Premiership's big stars are English and Gerrard is very proud of that.
He also spoke to L'Equipe about his great love for Liverpool, saying: "English football has taken advantage of what the foreign players have brought during the last ten or twelve years.
"Today they still play a big part in our league. However the great English players have never disappeared, there were just less then than there are nowadays.
"Today we have about fifteen world class talents, and some of them are the best in the world in their position.
"We don't fear anyone now. England can even aim at a 2006 World Cup title. That feeling has not existed for several decades. It is nice to be recognised on the international scene as an Englishman.
"Last July, I made the decision to stay with Liverpool for another four years because, after much thought and long talks, I felt that the team has strength deep inside it.
"I am from here, and football at Liverpool surpasses everything.
"I could not see myself leaving all that.Ç¥
