No regrets for Di Canio

Paolo Di Canio has no plans to change his ways after making another Nazi salute.

Paolo Di Canio has no plans to change his ways, despite his second Nazi salute of the year.

The veteran Lazio attacker made his latest gesture at the weekend during his side's 2-1 defeat against Livorno.

He is facing another investigation from the Italian football authorities after being fined ‚é¼10,000 (£7,000) for making a Nazi salute in the Rome derby in January.

But while his actions do not sit easy with Italian supporters, Di Canio is adamant he has no regrets about his salute.

Di Canio, who could face a suspension for his latest indiscretion, is determined to stand by his principles and has no qualms in being victimised by opposition fans.

"I will always salute because it gives me a sense of belonging to my people," said Di Canio.

"Before the game a flare was fired at our coach.

"To be honest I am proud to be the target for people who cannot embody our values."
