Nerazzurri opt for Obinna

Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Chievo starlet Victor Obinna will join Inter in January.

Internazionale supremo Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Chievo starlet Victor Obinna will join the Nerazzurri in January.

The Milan outfit are looking to offset the loss of Obafemi Martins to the African Cup of Nations, and have now moved to sign his 18-year-old Nigerian compatriot.

Obinna has carved out an impressive reputation with The Flying Donkeys, and has three Serie A goals to his name in six games so far this season.

Internazionale have been linked with the youngster for some time, although this is the first official confirmation that Obinna will be moving to San Siro.

"We already agreed and we have already ended all negotiations with Chievo to allow him to arrive with us," said Moratti.

With Obinna joining when the transfer window opens, Moratti has again moved to play down reports linking the Nerazzurri with another striker in the shape of Ronaldo.

Speculation has been increasing that the Brazilian superstar could be set for a sensational return to his former haunt, but Moratti has denied having any contact with the Real Madrid man.

"Ronaldo? We have never heard from him and he never called us," Moratti continued.

"There was nothing because it was only press speculation."
