The former Hyde United striker has endured an unhappy spell in New Zealand and has recently been involved in negotiations over the possibility of returning to Sincil Bank.

Skysports.com understands that Yeo's agent, Jason Dunford, has also been locked in talks with Oxford United, although the ex-soldier strongly favours a move back to Lincolnshire.

"Lincoln have tabled an offer, but there are one or two things I still need to discuss with the club and chairman," Yeo told the Lincolnshire Echo.

"At this moment in time I am 85 percent close to agreeing a deal. If we can overcome the obstacles, then I have no problem with re-signing.

"To put that red-and-white shirt on again and run out at Sincil Bank would mean so much to me."
