Martyn Margetson has been told he can leave Ninian Park at the end of the season.

The Neath-born Cardiff City goalkeeper will not be offered a new deal when his contract runs out in May and he has been advised by manager Dave Jones (pictured) to begin looking for another club.

"I'm now 34 and Cardiff City have told me I won't be offered another contract," he revealed.

"I'm disappointed, of course, but the manager has been straight with me.

"I thank him for that and it gives me time to sort out my future. I want to play on for another couple of seasons, whether that is at League level or even part-time. I still enjoy playing."

Margetson, who has made 31 league appearances for The Bluebirds after joining them on a free transfer from Huddersfield in August 2002, says that he will try and find further employment within Wales.
