The Aston Villa forward controlled the ball with his arm before firing home to open the scoring and alter the destiny of the contest.

"Yes I think maybe it was handball. To be honest, I think it was but the referee hasn't seen it. But it was a very important goal for us," he told Sky Sports News.

"We went 1-0 up, the whole team played well and we deserved the win today. I felt good and we're happy with the three points.

"We have a very important game with Fulham in two days so we have to forget today and be ready for that."
