Mauricio Pinilla says he is very happy with the prospect of joining Racing Santander.

The Chilean marksman recently returned to his homeland to witness the birth of his daughter, but he says he is quite content with life in Spain.

"I had the chance to speak with the vice president of Racing and they have a lot of faith in me," he said.

"I know that I am going to get the chance to play many games in this team, so I will be able to return to the competitive rhythm I always wanted and had before I got injured at Sporting.

"My idea is to return to Spain as soon as possible, help the team, score goals and hope that the team can finish in the top ten of the Spanish Liga."

Pinilla will join Racing on Decmber 30 in a loan deal which will see him remain for the rest of the season, with the club having the option to sign him permanently afterwards.
