Lazio secure Behrami

Lazio have completed the permanent signing of Valon Behrami.

Lazio have completed the permanent signing of Valon Behrami.

Behrami initially joined Lazio last summer in a co-ownership deal with Genoa with both clubs owning 50 percent of the player.

The Swiss international has impressed at the Stadio Olimpico and Lazio have moved to buy out the remainder of his contract at Genoa.

"We have reached an agreement," said Genoa director of sport Mariano Fabiani.

"There is nothing official as yet, but a handshake deal is worth more than a written contract in our eyes.

"We can consider ourselves satisfied with the terms."

Meanwhile, Lazio coach Delio Rossi has hit back at Aparecido Cesar's outburst that he could leave the club in January.

The Brazilian winger vented his anger at the club for stalling over offering him a new deal and he is being strongly linked with a move to Internazionale.

Cesar's words were not appreciated by Rossi who insists he only wants committed players at the club.

"Whoever wants to leave, must come and tell it to me," Rossi told the Italian press.

"Then we do a good press conference and we say he wants to leave, and if we can, we are happy for him.

"I only want really motivated people who believe in what we are doing.

"The important thing is being clear and loyal. But firstly, as I said, Cesar must come to Rome and tell us what he wants to do."
