Darlo get keeper cover

Darlington have signed Middlesbrough goalkeeper David Knight on loan.

Darlington have moved quickly to secure some emergency goalkeeping cover by landing Middlesbrough youngster David Knight.

With Sam Russell still on the sidelines and Bertrand Bossu now facing two months out with a broken foot, Quakers boss David Hodgson has turned to his North East neighbours to bring the 18-year-old to The TFM Arena.

The England youth international won the FA Youth Cup with Boro in 2004 and will have the chance to earn some first-team action with the League Two club.

It remains to be seen if Knight will make his debut at Lincoln City on New Year's Eve.

The news comes as defender David McGurk is set to return to Darlo following a loan spell at Nationwide Conference side York City.
