Pedersen denies Spurs link

Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen insists he has no reason to leave Ewood Park.

Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen is flattered by speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham but insists he has no reason to leave Ewood Park.

Pedersen has attracted a growing band of admirers after a series of spectacular goals have helped Blackburn increase their Premiership standing.

Tottenham coach Martin Jol has highlighted the left wing as an area Spurs can invest in during the January transfer window and was rumoured to be mulling over a bid for Pedersen.

Successive goals in Rovers' back-to-back wins over Wigan and Portsmouth at the turn of the year have increased speculation concerning the Norwegian international's status.

But, while admitting that the interest is flattering, the 24-year-old believes the side Mark Hughes is building at Ewood Park has as much potential as Jol's resurgent Spurs.

"It is positive that clubs are following you, that proves you are doing well," Pedersen told VG.

"Much can happen but I don't think about it. I am happy at Blackburn.

"We are starting to get a good side ourselves. Tottenham are not much better than us if you look at the standings."
