Solano rules out Peru return
Nolberto Solano has ruled out coming out of international retirement for Peru.
Newcastle winger Nolberto Solano has ruled out coming out of international retirement for Peru.Solano quit playing for Peru in 2005 after their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup were ended.
Reports last September suggested Solano was considering making himself available again for selection for his national team which may have not gone down too well with the Newcastle officials following his rows with former boss Sir Bobby Robson in the past over his commitments with Peru.
"Saying this is painful because it is very difficult for me to take this decision but I won't change my mind," Solano told Radio Programas in Peru.
"I'd love to say something different but I won't."
The news will be well received by Newcastle chief Graeme Souness as he would have been unhappy to lose Solano for any period of time with his squad already stretched to the limit because of injuries.
