City make Hart bid

Manchester City have reportedly made a bid for Shrewsbury Town keeper Joe Hart.

Manchester City have reportedly made a January bid for young Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Premiership side have been linked for some time with the talented 18-year-old after manager Stuart Pearce and goalkeeping coach Tim Flowers were spotted at Gay Meadow earlier in the season.

With the January transfer window now open, City are thought to have made an offer of around £100,000 for the England Under-19 international.

Hart has been an ever-present in goal for the League Two club this season and Shrews manager Gary Peters had declared back in November that he would try and loan back the teenager, if he was sold on this month.

It remains to be seen if Hart will be moving on from the Shropshire outfit at this point of the current campaign.

Meanwhile, City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver has had his loan at Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday extended until the end of January.
