Bids lodged for Evra

Monaco have now confirmed bids have been received for in-demand Patrice Evra.

Just hours after stating no bids have been received for Patrice Evra, Monaco have confirmed offers have been tabled for the in-demand defender.

Manchester United and Internazionale have both been strongly linked with the France international and it remains to be seen if it is the duo who have moved for the 24-year-old.

The Principality outfit are keen to retain Evra, but are also reluctant to keep hold of a player who has already revealed his desire to leave Stade Louis II during the January transfer window.

Shortly after Monaco president Michel Pastor stated no bids had been received director of football Jean-Luc Ettori has confirmed clubs have been in touch for Evra's services.

Evra might even have played his last game for Monaco after the club withdrew the defender from their squad to face Auxerre in Ligue 1 on Thursday.

"There are offers and we will simply study them," explained Ettiori to L'Equipe. "The president and the vice-president (Gerard Brianti) have met his agent.

"A decision will be taken. We know how good a player he is and how hard it will be to replace him. If a club wants him they need to name a price."
