Knight to leave Brighton

Brighton striker Leon Knight has handed in a second transfer request.

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Leon Knight has handed in a second transfer request as he looks to leave the club during January.

Knight's relationship with manager Mark McGhee has broken down irreparably following a bust-up between the duo on Monday.

The row on the team coach came after Knight fell out with the Seagulls boss in November after his reaction to being substituted.

The pacey attacker is now aiming to leave The Withdean Stadium during the transfer window after confirming he has asked to quit Brighton.

"I've had a few dust-ups with the manager and I will be leaving during the transfer window," said Knight.

"I do not feel I suit the manager's style of play.

"I want to stay in The Championship and I want to join a team who play decent football."

McGhee confirmed that Knight's future on the South Coast will be discussed at a board meeting on Thursday.

"As far as I am concerned he's said it all," said McGhee. "He made it quite clear he wants to leave the club.

"There is a board meeting on Thursday. His request will be discussed then and we'll go from there. I am making no other comment about what he said."
