Skysports.com understand that Wycombe are closing in on Stockport's Jermaine Easter.

The Stockport forward has notched seven goals during an injury-hit eight months at Edgeley Park, but is considered a good prospect after beginning his career at Wolves.

Stockport have played down claims that a £30,000 move is imminent, however, with spokesman Des Hinks telling skysports.com: "We've had two enquiries but no offers as yet. Jermaine remains a Stockport player and will take part in tomorrow's game."

News of the possible move is sure to come as a severe blow for Hatters fans who are presently managerless as they sit four points adrift at the foot of League Two.
