Meanwhile, Farag's agent Samir El Sayed has confirmed the player will not play in the African Cup of Nations, while Monaco were also interested in the full back.
El Sayed told skysports.com: "The player has played the last three games with the Egyptian team.
"He had a choice to go to the ACN. However, he wants to start his adventure with Strasbourg quickly.
"He is a very good left back. Monaco did want him to replace Evra, but he had already given his word to Strasbourg."
