Wigan boss Paul Jewell has admitted he may be forced into the transfer market due to the club's injury problems.David Connolly and Lee McCulloch joined the casualty list on Tuesday after picking up injuries in the Carling Cup win over Arsenal.
Both players look likely to miss this weekend's Premiership clash with West Brom and they join Ryan Taylor on the sidelines.
Jewell admits his squad is looking thin on the ground with Henri Camara also away on international duty and he may have to bring in some new faces to add options to his team selections.
"It is like the walking wounded at the moment," said Jewell.
"We did have 15 fit outfield players, now it is 13 because David had no chance for Sunday and Lee would not be able to play if the match was tomorrow.
"We are really stretched and it just shows the need to try and bring some players in.
"We will have to make even more inroads into the transfer market if we possibly can."
