Jansen rules out Germany
Bolton striker Matt Jansen says going to the World Cup with England is beyond him.
New Bolton Wanderers signing Matt Jansen says the prospect of making England's World Cup squad is likely beyond him.The 28-year-old was commenting on his free transfer move to Sam Allardyce's squad this month from Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.
The former Carlisle United and Crystal Palace hit-man left Ewood Park in order to get regular first-team football after failing to establish himself in Mark Hughes's side this season.
Jansen expressed his flattery at the interest he received from several clubs and explained his reasons for choosing to join The Trotters.
"I think the World Cup is out of the question, really," Jansen told Sky Sports News.
"All I want to do is play for Bolton and play as many games as I can and repay the trust that Sam is given me.
"It was flattering really, I couldn't believe it. My phone wouldn't stop, I would listen to messages and there were a number of clubs that were interested.
"But Sam Allardyce has a habit of bringing the best out of players, who have lost their way and I thought it was the best option for me."
