Fulham told to pay up for Saha
Fulham have been ordered to pay é¼2 million to Metz as part of Louis Saha's transfer.
Fulham have been ordered to pay é¼2 million (£1.4 million) to Metz as part of Louis Saha's transfer to Manchester United.
The ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld an agreement between the Ligue 1 club and The Cottagers when then manager Jean Tigana signed Saha for é¼3 million (£2 million) in the summer of 2000.
Metz included a clause in the contract which stated that were Fulham to sell Saha before the end of his contract then the French club would be entitled to 15 percent of any transfer profit.
Saha subsequently signed for The Red Devils in January 2004, commanding a é¼16 million (£11 million) fee in the process, but Metz had yet to receive their entitlement.
That inequity has now been rectified, although the extra installment is not expected to hinder Cottagers manager Chris Coleman's forays in the January transfer window.
