Clarke moves to Boston

Boston United have signed Rochdale midfielder Jamie Clarke on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old joins the York Street club on an 18-month contract after being released by the Spotland side.

The Sunderland-born player was delighted to make the January switch to Steve Evans's side.

"I'm really pleased to be here," Clarke told Boston's official website.

"I've had a frustrating time at Rochdale recently, after I had started virtually all of the matches up until the start of December.

"Since then, the manager (Steve Parkin) decided to leave me out and I've not really figured since.

"It was clear that I didn't feature in the manager's plans at Rochdale, so I knew I had to get away.

"This is a new challenge for me and one that I'm very much looking forward to."
