West Brom ace Kanu has admitted he would love to make a return to Ajax. The Nigerian began his career at Ajax and made his name at the Dutch giants.
Kanu spent two years at the Amsterdam ArenA, helping them win the UEFA Champions League in 1995.
The 29-year-old revealed he was close to a move to Ajax last summer only for the deal to fall through.
Kanu, who has 18 months to run on his contract at The Hawthorns, admits he would like to return to Ajax in some capacity in the future.
"I really miss Ajax and would love to show everyone what I can still do," Kanu told De Telegraph.
"Jari Litmanen returned, it didn't work out well. But not everyone is the same.
"I know for sure I can still be worth a lot for the team and I hope the coach thinks that as well. I keep my fingers crossed."
Kanu is hopeful that a deal could be reached to see him return to Ajax if West Brom try to block any potential move.
"But maybe that can be talked about.
"If I have to stay in England or Ajax don't want me I hope to return in another role.
"As a youth coach or something else. I love Amsterdam."
