Hearts not finished with four
Hearts have unveiled four new signings, but plan more deadline day activity.
As expected, Hearts have completed the signings of Mirsad Beslija, Jose Goncalves, Bruno Aguiar and Juha Makela - but they have not finished their work and look set to add to more names to their squad. All four new players have signed three-and-a-half year contracts with the Edinburgh club after all the deals were finalised.
Bosnian international Beslija has arrived in a club record deal from Racing worth £800,000, while Finnish striker Makela has sealed his move from HJK Helsinki.
While Beslija and Makela are transferred straight to Hearts, both Goncalves and Aguiar have penned deals with FBK Kaunas before being loaned to Tynecastle - a common practice with a number of Jambos transfers now.
Kaunas are owned by Hearts supremo Vladimir Romanov and a number of recent deals have been conducted in this way.
21-year-old Goncalves has arrived from Swiss outfit FC Thun, while Aguiar is a free transfer having recently being released from Benfica.
Meanwhile, it can be confirmed that Romanov is looking to sign Czech duo Martin Petras and Ludek Straceny.
Sparta Prague defender Petras and striker Straceny - currently on loan at Marila Pribram from Viktoria Zizkov - are both wanted by Hearts as they look to add yet more new faces.
"Time goes quickly on because this is the last day of the transfer window but I am convinced that besides the Straceny move, we will seal also Petras - who agrees with it," said Pavel Zika - agent of both players - told Idnes.
"Of course Hearts representatives are interested in having them on loan with the option to buy."
A deal for Straceny looks nearer to completion and he has already spoken about his desire to link-up with compatriot Michal Pospisil.
"It is a great chance," said Straceny. "I have always loved football played in the British Isles."
