Edghill out for season

Richard Edghill has broken his leg and is expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Bradford defender Richard Edghill has broken his leg and is expected to be out for the rest of the season.

The 31-year-old met with club surgeon, Steve Bollen, after being stretchered off against Colchester at the weekend.

He was told that he had broken his fibula and could play no further part this term.

It is a cruel blow for the former Manchester City full back, who had recently signed a new deal and was making his first appearance since New Year's Eve following a hamstring injury.

Manager Colin Todd is also expected to be without winger Owen Morrison until April due to a back problem, while Ben Muirhead remains sidelined after a hernia operation.

Meanwhile, Dean Windass has been hit with a five-game ban, which will start on February 20 after being found guilty of improper conduct.

Bradford are 11th in the League One table, despite this the club are only five points clear of the relegation zone.
