Toffees trial for Iversen

Everton are considering a move for ex-Tottenham star Steffen Iversen.

The 29-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract with Valerenga expired last year.

The Norwegian side are keen for Iversen to remain with them - but he is seemingly keen to try his luck elsewhere.

He has held talks with Mallorca, Celtic, Messina and Portsmouth over the past few weeks - but nothing has yet materialised.

Now Iversen has spoken with Everton and has agreed a trial spell with the Merseyside club - who are looking to bolster their attacking options.

"Everton contacted us and they seem to be interested." confirmed agent Rune Hauge to Dagbladet.

"Steffen will be there for two, three days, train with the club and look at the conditions.

"We are not in a hurry and have ongoing talks with several clubs."

Iversen was last in England with Wolves in 2004, but he is now hopeful of sealing a move back to The Premiership.
