Internazionale's Juan Sebastian Veron is set to miss next week's UEFA Champions League last 16 clash with Ajax after suffering an ankle injury.

The Argentine midfielder limped off against Juventus at the weekend and is now expected to be out for at least three weeks.

Veron is aiming to be fit for the Nerazzuri's return leg with Ajax on March 14.

The playmaker's injury is expected to open the door for David Pizarro or Cristiano Zanetti to stake a claim for a place in the side.

Internazionale are currently second in Serie A, 12 points behind leaders Juventus.
