Middlesbrough midfielder Fabio Rochemback has been ruled out for eight weeks.
Middlesbrough midfielder Fabio Rochemback has been ruled out for eight weeks after damaging ankle ligaments.
The Brazilian picked up the injury during the FA Cup win at Preston on Sunday and scans have confirmed the extent of the problem.
It means Steve McClaren will have to do without the South American as his side strive to progress in the Uefa Cup and FA Cup, whilst also keeping an eye on their precarious league position - although this was eased by the shock win over Chelsea in their last Premiership outing.
Rochemback broke his duck in front of goal for Boro with the opener in that 3-0 success against the champions and runaway league leaders.
Meanwhile, promising Boro starlet James Morrison is to see a specialist in London.
The wide midfielder has been experiencing problems with his hip and is keen to get to the bottom of the injury.
