Luciano given suspended jail term

Chievo winger Luciano has been handed an eight-month suspended jail sentence.

Chievo winger Siqueira De Oliveira Luciano has been handed an eight-month suspended jail sentence for possessing a false Brazilian passport.

It has now been discovered that the attacker used a passport going by the name of another player, Eirberto Da Conceicao Silva, when he first arrived in the country in 1998.

The player had already been banned by Sport Justice and has now been given a suspended jail term by civil law.

Luciano insists that he only used the false passport to ensure that his move to Italian side Bologna was not jeopardised by his age.

The passport claimed that the Brazilian was born in 1975, however he was born in 1979.

Luciano has been cleared to continue his career with Chievo.
